DIG-IT-ALL/DATASUPERMARKET
Split 2004

P&R introduced their concept in the basement of Diocletian's Palace after an invitation by selector Dragica Čakić, a politologist of modern art at the University of La Sapienza in Rome. The exhibition entitled An Underground Garden has gathered many world-renowned local as well as foreign names in the art world (Ulay, Roberta Silva, Zorka Lednarova, Marina Gržinić, Sanja Iveković, Ivan Kožarić, Goran Petercol etc.). Because it was expected of the works to "communicate" with the antique space of the Palace, the authors dwelled in Split for a week before the opening of the exhibition so as to realise their work "in situ". P&R have spanned the elongated hallway with a new ceiling, a translucent baldachin measuring 1,25 x 29m containing binary code inscription made by two P&R projects one of which dealt with the palace itself.
